Accommodation
You can book a room in the beautifully renovated farmhouse on a bed and breakfast or full board basis.
The rustic annex can be booked on a self catering basis or with bed and breakfast. Book a room or the whole annex with 6 bedrooms a large kitchen/dining room and living room.
Getting to Gimdalen village and Mogården is easy.
The train to nearby Bräcke takes 4 and a half hours from Stockholm. It's a six hour drive from Stockholm and there are regular fights to Östersund airport which is 80 kms away.
Mogården is a classic 2 story farmhouse built in 1892 from solid local timber. The house stood empty for many years until we fell in love with what had locally become known as the ghost house. We purchased it in 2007 and have since then worked on restoring the house to the stylish and comfortable home it once was.
We have had generous advice and practical help from the people of Gimdalen including an enormous input from one of the village's oldest inhabitants, Martin Magnusson, a highly skilled fine carpenter.
Marika's mother was born in the village and spent her early childhood here. Her mother was the primary school teacher during a time that the village boasted both a primary and a seconday school.
Our renovations continue and we are constantly restoring new details and upgrading our facilities.
